In April 2012, Jack Bantry unleashed issue one of his ‘Splatterpunk Zine’ dedicated to the extreme and gore-drenched horror that was dubbed as ‘splatterpunk’ during the mid-to-late 80’s. Issue one was published in a large A4 size. However, the issues that followed shrank to A5, although each contained a larger page count.
Predominantly offering up short pieces of hard-hitting horror fiction by some of the highly-revered names in the ‘extreme horror’ circuit, the zines also include articles, book reviews and interviews. Although somewhat DIY, the publications all maintain a high degree of professionalism, with superb illustrations and cover artwork in each.
Since its launch, Jack Bantry has also released a number of high-quality limited edition chapbooks through his Splatterpunk site.
