For those that enjoy a gritty, adrenaline-pumping post-apocalyptic story with epic proportions, you might want to give G.X. Todd’s ‘The Voices’ books a look.  The first instalment ‘Defender’ (2017) offered up a cross between Robert R. McCammon’s ‘Swan Song’ (1987) and Luc Besson’s ‘Leon’ (1994).  It was a hard-hitting story that yanked at your guts on more than one occasion.

Now the second instalment in the series, entitled ‘Hunted’(2018) is due for release at the end of May.  For this second book expect no let-up on the brutality.  It’s harsh, unrelenting and ferociously paced.  Think the first and final sections of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ (1978) without any of the cosy re-building of a new life.  The world is no longer a safe place, especially when you’re being hunted.
